Author Interview: Charlie Finn

Today, we have the lovely Charlie Finn with us today to answer a few questions about her and her upcoming first novel Shadow Walker: Awakened,so without further adu, let's begin:

1. Could you tell us a bit about yourself?

Well where to start? I will be celebrating my 21st birthday on the 1st July and in the same week I’ll be celebrating my first wedding anniversary as well! I have two son’s, Alfie who is three in September and Jack who turned one back in February this year and I live in the UK with my husband.

2. Why did you choose to write within a paranormal, urban fantasy genre?

I think the main reason was that I had read so many books on that genre and I was starting to get bored with the normal idea that surrounds certain creatures and I wanted to but my own spin on them and do something completely new with them that hadn’t been done before.

3. What has been your inspiration for your upcoming book?

Well at the end of last year I went through a really hard time in my life and after throwing myself into so many books to escape my problems I decided that I had enough of keeping my nose in a book and that I wanted to write to one instead and now when I think back to those hard times or if I’m having a bad day I know I have my book to loose myself in just the same as way if I was reading a book.

4. Are there any characters based on anyone you know or was everyone solely made up?

Oh yeah definitely. For starters they all have my music tastes of some sort wherever it be the girly girl who loves Britney Spears or the big strong mysterious guy who loves AC/DC and then there is the insanely smart girl who is too kind is based on my best friend and then there’s my grief for certain things that have happened to me in real life that I used for the some of the characters emotions who have had a similar hard time.

5. Do you plan to have this book be a single novel or a series?

I plan to write a very long series, however long the characters decided to let me tell their story hopefully it will be a good six or maybe more books!

6. What do you plan on doing in the future?

Well for starters finish this book! Get my house finished have another child or two and see either Lady Gaga, Glee or AC/DC in concert lol!

7. What are some of your favourite authors or books?

Richelle Mead (The Vampire Academy Series are my favourite ever!), J.R Ward with the Black Dagger Brotherhood series (My second favourite series!), Carrie Jones with the Need Series. Those are just three but I have a very long list of authors I love!

8. What do you like to do when you take a break from writing?

I love to digi scrap, Photography, Cooking and Sleeping! But most importantly spending time with my husband and my children! Oh and of course Facebook :P
