March 31, 2011- Review for Author Meg Cabot

Anyone up for a laugh? The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot is a quirky fun novel aimed at an audience of teen girls, but of course guys can read it too! This tale tells of Mia, whose adolescent turmoil as an average teenager, and a princess of royal descent is written in her ongoing journal, where she explores topics of teenage angst, love and betrayal through a very opinionated eye. Cabot references to a lot of  pop culture throughout the novel for which she was criticized for, but the references are necessary to show that her character is a normal teenager. That is, until the day the character realizes her that she's a royal. Meg Cabot did a great job of writing this book as if it were really a teenage girl's diary, and it is guaranteed to put a smile on it's audience's faces.

  1. As a guy, I would consider it, except that I made a personal vow never to read anything pink or with the word "princess" in the title. Wait, shoot, The Princess Bride. Well, I still don't read anything pink.
