Review for Author Margaret Peterson Haddix

Bethany is an only child who has always been spoiled and pampered by her loving and overprotective parents. But when her 13th birthday approaches, things start to change. Her mother is always crying and her father seems worried as well. Bethany knows something is very wrong when her parents drop her off to live with an aunt she’s never even met, when they usually don’t even let her go to slumber parties. Then they disappear and won’t answer their phone or tell her where they are. In her Aunt's town, Bethany begins to hear the name, Elizabeth a lot, but who is she and what does she have to do with Bethany? She learns something is wrong when questions that seem simple enough aren't being answered. Then, one day a man arrives on her aunt's doorstep who might have the answers. What I really enjoyed about this book is that it is so spooky, and great for anyone who loves a good mystery. It definitely keeps you hooked and on the edge of your seat, and it’s full of surprises! I love the fact that this book is unpredictable, but sometimes it just got way too confusing. At the end, the story gets really complicated and hard to believe.
